Assertive Communication in the Management of the School Sgto. Ángel Dávila Chamba, Teaching Period 2024-2025

Abstract

Currently, assertive communication is a fundamental principle; it allows the transmission of information and facilitates the exchange of thoughts, ideas, and the expression of feelings and emotions from both the sender and the receiver. For this reason, the objective was to analyze assertive communication and managerial performance between the educational leader of the institution and parents during the 2024-2025 academic year. A deductive method was employed, with a quantitative approach, descriptive-explanatory scope, and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 12 parents from the participating institution. The research instrument was a questionnaire applied through the survey technique, which enabled the analysis and structuring of data to obtain study results. The findings demonstrated the assertive communication practiced by the parents of the Sgto. Ángel Dávila Chamba Basic Education School encompasses communicative skills, paraverbal and non-paraverbal resources, and assertive strategies. Similarly, the perceptions of the educational leader in their managerial role were described using communication skill dimensions, achieving the highest rating of "always" on the Likert scale. This was complemented by empathetic expression and relationships, along with paraverbal and non-paraverbal resources, which showed a high percentage under "sometimes." This indicates that their conversations are carried out with ease, ensuring clarity in the message they intend to convey. Therefore, it was concluded that within the participating educational institution, there was a strong positive relationship between assertive communication and managerial performance.
