Abstract

The purpose of this research is to address the difficulties presented by high school students in the understanding of quadratic functions and the incidence of using GeoGebra software as a pedagogical tool to strengthen this learning during the 2024-2025 school year. The main objective was to determine the impact of this technological intervention on the academic performance of students of the Unidad Educativa Fiscal “Prócer León de Febres Cordero”. For this purpose, a quasi-experimental methodology with a quantitative approach was used, where two groups were formed: an experimental group that used GeoGebra and a control group that received traditional instruction. Data were collected through diagnostic tests before and after the intervention, as well as evaluation questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in the academic performance of the group that used GeoGebra, reflecting a notable increase in grades compared to the control group. In addition, greater satisfaction and motivation were observed among the students exposed to the technological tool, suggesting a positive change in the perception of mathematics. In conclusion, the research highlights that the incorporation of GeoGebra not only facilitates the understanding of complex concepts such as quadratic functions, but also promotes a more dynamic and interactive teaching, thus recommending its implementation in similar educational contexts to improve learning in mathematics.
