Open Access Policy
Diamond open access guarantee and reuse
Diamond Open Access applies to all scientific and editorial content published by the journal. Readers need no subscription, and authors pay nothing to submit, review, edit, or publish. Free publication does not reduce scientific controls or create a different review track.
The editor oversees licensing; production staff place rights information in PDF, HTML, JATS XML, and metadata; and authors warrant that they hold rights or permission for every included item.
Diamond model
The journal publishes through Diamond Open Access. Readers access content free of charge and authors pay no submission, review, editing, or publication fees.
License
Articles are distributed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Content may be shared, adapted, and reused for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that authorship, source, license, and changes are acknowledged.
Rights
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Access is immediate, free, permanent, and free from embargo periods.
Access and reuse
Full text and metadata are available upon publication without mandatory registration, subscription, or embargo. Reading, downloading, and reuse do not depend on payments by authors or readers. Diamond Open Access covers submission, assessment, copyediting, layout, publication, DOI assignment, and preservation without hidden charges.
Attribution under CC BY 4.0 should identify the authors, title, journal, year, DOI, and license and should state whether changes were made. The license does not permit misleading attribution or imply that authors endorse an adaptation. Moral rights and applicable legal limitations remain in force.
Versions and repositories
Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and version of record in institutional or subject repositories, academic profiles, and personal websites. Each deposit should identify the version and, once published, include the complete citation and DOI of the version of record.
Supplementary materials are published under CC BY 4.0 unless another compatible license is expressly stated. Research data may use specific licenses or instruments, provided their terms are clear and do not conflict with ethics, privacy, or third-party rights.
Sustainability and transparency
Free publication does not influence editorial decisions or selection criteria. Institutional funding, services provided by the publishing entity, and the co-publisher’s participation are disclosed transparently. Sponsors may not interfere with peer review, demand favorable findings, or prevent publication of legitimate conclusions.
Any future change in licensing or the economic model must be announced before taking effect, apply only to future content, and preserve the conditions under which earlier articles were published. The journal will retain an accessible policy history.
Implementation procedure
- Display CC BY 4.0 on the website and link to the official license text.
- Include the license, authorship, DOI, and source in every published version and its metadata.
- Provide immediate reading and download without embargo, mandatory registration, or unjustified technical barriers.
- Identify third-party materials not covered by the general license.
- Correct licensing notices or metadata when an inconsistency is found.
Evidence of compliance
- Full text freely available from each article landing page.
- A visible CC BY 4.0 statement in files and article pages.
- No invoices, APCs, submission charges, or paid review routes.
- License forms and third-party permissions retained in the file.
Licensing checks in the version of record
Before releasing an article, production shall check that the licensing notice is consistent across the article page, PDF, metadata, and supplementary materials. Any figure or table subject to restricted third-party permission shall be explicitly excluded from CC BY 4.0, with its source and permission identified; discrepancies shall be resolved before publication.
Policy monitoring and review
The journal annually checks that articles, metadata, repositories, and preservation services maintain the stated access and license. Broken links, unavailable files, and discrepancies are corrected as a priority.
